When Life Isn't Complicated Enough

Weight Loss Journey Week 7 of 2013

Week 7 weight loss

Yay, these snazzy jeans are proudly sat in my wardrobe! For the first time in nearly 4 years I have been able to buy a size 18 in jeans from New Look and I have made the most of it since I bought 3 pairs! (Thanks sis for the gift voucher for Christmas, I love my new jeans)

Ok I know this may not sound like a massive achievement to some of you but to me this is the holy grail of clothes purchasing!

I love them and I know they are not a size 8 ..  but if we are honest its like having 2 size 8’s ….. one for each side!!

My eating has been back on track this week although the exercise has not really been what was planned it has made me more determined than ever to get my ass moving!

So my exercise targets for last week were:

  • A minimum of 2 x 3 mile walks (min 6 miles total)
  • Attend both hockey training sessions (junior with Beth & ladies = 180 mins)
  • Hockey Match Saturday so need to play the whole match!

What exercise I actually completed this week:

  • Walking – Nil
  • 100 mins Hockey Match (we won 2-1!)
  • No Hockey Training as it was snowing.

So how did I do?

– 1 lb

Total Weight Loss This Year:

8.5lbs

Total Loss (including last year)

4 Stone 8.5lbs

Next Week’s Exercise:

  • A minimum of 2 x 3 mile walks (min 6 miles total)
  • No Hockey training – Half Term
  • Hockey Match Saturday so need to play the whole match!

The Gallery: Boys

After joining the Gallery linky via Tara at Sticky Fingers last week with the theme of Girls, this week I am joining again for the theme of boys.

I have searched thought thousands of photo’s of Ollie (the hubby) and Joshua for a glimpse at the Oliver boys:

See far more to choose from than I had last week with the girls, I must get more pictures with me in instead of always taking the pictures!

Fun At The Farm Shop

FPF Farm shop

Last week in my wisdom I decided to batch cook for this weeks tea, however without half the ingredients Joshua and I hot footed it to our local farm shop.

On arriving and getting to the first counter Joshua had spotted an assistant who he took a shine too. If I am honest I think he fell in love!

The photo above is one of the smiles he gave her while she was putting together our cheese order!

When approaching the second counter for our meat Joshua fell in love once again and proceeded to blow kisses to this lady…. at this point I began to worry that they may just chuck us out!

Farm Shop

On finally getting all the ingredients for our batch cooking session Joshua spotted the balloons! .. damn you Farm shop!! he cried and pointed and wanted to get out the trolley.

But all was not lost as one of his new loves came and served us on the till and gave him a sticker!!

Who knew Farm Shops could be so much fun!

I will be linking up again with the lovely Charlotte from The Crumby Mummy for her Fun Photo Fun linky, why not give it a go!

My Week That Was – Project 365 Week 7

project 365 wk7Ribbet collage365 wk7

Another busy week for us at the Oliver’s Madhouse, Its the last week of term for Beth so next week I have no doubt it will be busier still!

Sunday 10th February – Sunday is what I class as my catch up day, bed stripping, deep cleaning and ironing, Joshua like the empty ironing basket so its always fun when I get to the bottom!

Monday 11th February – After an eventful night over the weekend which led to us taking turns on Joshua’s bedroom floor to hold his hand through the cot bars. Monday morning my little terror thought he would have lie in!

Tuesday 12th February – Joshua and I walked with Beth to school to get some fresh air. Also I think Beth liked the idea as she is being bullied although she would never admit she liked it too!

Wednesday 13th February – Off Joshua and I went to the farm shop to get some ingredients for batch cooking on Thursday, glad we went early as it snowed again.

Thursday 14th February – I batch cooked spag bol, shepherds pie, lasagne and chilli today. We all had haircuts in the afternoon by the lovely Carl our mobile hairdresser too.

Friday 15th February – Was a lazy day, While I was catching up with emails and post reading Joshua played with his friend Doggy. I did have to explain later on that Doggy didn’t need to be washed in the washing machine!

Saturday 16th February – This morning Joshua came into our bed for a snuggle, I love Saturday mornings.

Hope you all had a great week too.

Ranty Friday – Some Companies

ranty friday - some companies

Right hands up in the air … yes I am a fairly new blogger…

This does not make me stupid nor an idiot, what it does mean is I am eager to learn all about the crazy complex world in which I now find myself.

I have been very kindly asked over the last 3 nearly 4 months to participate in reviewing some items and I have been then given them to keep. Great stuff who doesn’t like being honest and get to keep stuff!

The companies I have dealt with up until now and the ones I am dealing with currently I need to point out have been absolutely amazing and I do have to say that this rant does not in any way represent them.

They have understood the need to ensure the product is relevant to my family, they have allowed me to carry out the review to fit into my time frame and have not grumbled once when I have attached  negatives to the product or item I have reviewed for them, as lets face it you come to me you get an honest review.

My problem lies with companies which have contacted me out of the blue with  no idea at what my blog is about or the content in which I post on there.

The ones that I am talking about today send mass generated emails and expect a response, Why should  we respond when you obviously do not have any idea about what target market you’re aiming for as each and every blog is very different.

When you do make contact please be aware of what you’re wanting from me and my blog as my time is equally as precious as yours and I do not want to have to have a multiple email conversation in which I finally find out what you’re requiring.

Please take the time to find out what ages my children are so you don’t feel a little stupid when your asking me to review some newborn item in pink when in fact my daughter is nearly 12.

Until then Companies please please just treat us with some respect and honesty, to many of us our blogs are an extension to our families. We love you guys and will help but only if respected!

…. And remember I maybe fairly new now but one day maybe my blog will compete for world domination! …

The Oliver’s Reasons to Be Cheerful

reasonstobecheerfulv2-1

This is the first time I have joined in this fantastic linky and after recent up’s and down’s I thought it was about time we looked at the reasons we should be cheerful.

1)  As some of you know Beth recently has had lots off issues and one of those has been  ongoing bullying taking place at school. Now we are cheerful this week as it seems this has turned a corner and school have been on ball and are tackling this head on.

2)  The Hubby (Ollie) and I are hatching  a plan of an adult outing to the pictures to spend some quality time together, If we are lucky we may even get to eat out too!

3)  We have a family Christening to attend on Sunday and we a looking forward to seeing some family we haven’t seen for a while.

Creative Corner – Feisty Sue

Prose For Thought 2Having created a lovely poem last week Beth (age 11) decided to have another go at a poem this week around the same theme as last weeks, which you can find HERE but adding a romantic edge. So if your sitting comfortably she will begin:

There once was a  fiesty girl called sue

With wild green eyes looking at you

If you saw her you would see

How beautiful she looks when she she is looking at me

Yet all she wants is her true love

Who sailed on out to sea

Weight Loss Journey Week 6 of 2013

Naval Gazing

Ok Ok … Will the lazy sod please stand up! …. that will be me then!

This week I will list my weight loss failings *hangs head in shame*

I was nothing but a lazy so and so.. my cold meant no Hockey Training as I can barley breath when I am out there, add a blocked nose and copious amounts of snot .. not good.

I have unashamedly eaten rubbish, crisps and a takeaway without a second thought.

My final failing this week was the 9 hours of drinking in which over 7 pints of larger where consumed (and that’s just the ones I remember, I vaguely recollect a wine or 3??!)

I am pleased to report however a couple of my friends from the village who last year did very well on their fitness drive are going to be taking up 2 x 3 mile walks per week in the evenings and if I honest I am looking forward to joining in .. who knows maybe I could build myself up to running it? .. eventually

Ladies please be aware I may need a sick bag!

I have also while sat in my fat pants on the sofa been reading a great book called Naval Gazing about weight loss and the emotional connection that your head plays in this weight loss malarkey if anyone is interested then I have completed a review of the book HERE.

So my exercise targets for last week were:

  • A minimum of 3 x 2 mile walks  (min 6 Miles)
  • Attend both hockey training sessions (junior with Beth & ladies = 180 mins)
  • No Hockey match … (although I thought there was no match after I was looking at the wrong week).. its the blonde in me!

What exercise I actually completed this week:

  • 1 x 1 mile – Walk
  • 110 mins Hockey Match (we lost 6-1!)
  • No Hockey Training as I felt dreadful last Wednesday with a blooming cold.

So how did I do?

Remained the Same .. if I am honest I deserved to of gained!

Total Weight Loss This Year:

7.5lbs

Total Loss (including last year)

4 Stone 7.5lbs

Next Week’s Exercise:

  • A minimum of 2 x 3 mile walks (min 6 miles total)
  • Attend both hockey training sessions (junior with Beth & ladies = 180 mins)
  • Hockey Match Saturday so need to play the whole match!

This week I only have my lazy ass to blame! … come on lets get hyped for next week!

The Gallery: Girls

I have obviously lived in a cupboard oblivious to the outside world since I have only just discovered this great linky via Tara at Sticky Fingers.

So this being my first link up I do hope I have got it right!.

The theme for this week is girls and since being of the female variety myself I have included myself into this in order to show you some pictures of the Oliver girls.

While browsing for pictures this morning I have found I have to make a massive confession ….. there are barely any of Beth and I so I have pledged this morning that I will aim to resolve this in the future!

This is my entry for Tara Cain’s ‘The Gallery’
