When Life Isn't Complicated Enough

E45 Bath Emollient Oil & Emollient Wash Cream

My little man has suffered from eczema from being a few months old, the crooks of his elbows and the backs of his knees are the parts of him that have mainly been effected. Over the last 12 months + i have tried over 5-6 different prescribed emollients lotions and potions as well as following the advice of my GP and pharmacist religiously.  Now don’t get me wrong each time i have tried the GP prescribed potion it seems to have worked for a few days and then has stopped working, no matter how much i have plastered onto him.

Recently i was asked by the lovely people at Spink Health to try E45‘s Bath Emollient Oil and Emollient Wash Cream. Now after over half a dozen trips to the surgery and the fact i may just become bold if this continues i jumped at the chance to try something gentle and hopefully effective to sooth my little mans poor arms as he was once again suffering with a flare up.

I was also advised over the new online resource set up by E45 and the National Eczema Society that not only has handy helpful advice but is also easy to use (phew!! i am no techno geek!)  – www.eczemaadvice.co.uk

The resource is free and has the following benefits:

–          Personal guidance from a specialist nurse from the National Eczema Society

–          Video advice from a dermatology nurse on how to effectively apply emollients

–          Emollient application reminders

–          Children’s symptom tracker to help you with your child’s eczema management

E45 have also created a simple 3 step treatment plan in-line with NICE (National Institute of Clinical Excellence) and NES guidance that is outlined on the website. All this is was great to know as like most parents i am always wary about trying something new.

E45 Emollient Wash Cream

A gentle but effective non-drying cleanser that soothes your skin and helps prevent dryness by helping your skin retain its natural moisture. Free from soap and detergent, E45 Wash is gentle enough for everyday use and a detergent free alternative to soap. E45 wash is suitable for washing dry, uncomfortable skin conditions and is non-drying, non-foaming and perfume-free. ( i loved this so much i have been using this for the last few days too!)

E45 Emollient Bath Oil

E45 Bath is an effective yet gentle bath oil, clinically proven to soothe and moisturise dry skin. Tested by dermatologists to help with dry skin conditions, E45 Bath creates a lasting barrier that protects against moisture loss. E45 emollient bath oil is a highly-effective bath oil clinically proven to soothe and moisture dry, uncomfortable skin.

After 10 days use on my little man i have to say we are very impressed! although it has not cleared up completely it is well on its way to being completely clear and we haven’t even had to smoother the poor boy in nasty greasy potions that make him slip out his highchair!

I genuinely think these products would be good to use on baby/toddlers gentle skin even if they don’t suffer with eczema.

Now not only have i been able to review this great product, the very generous people at Spink Health are offering one of my lucky readers the chance to try these products for themselves!

This competition has now closed, the winner was selected using Raffle-copter. Well done @vicwelton

  1. A great product :), I used it regularly when Grace was a baby and would still use it now if I got round to getting some!
