When Life Isn't Complicated Enough

My Weight Loss Journey Week 5 of 2013

on 06/02/2013

Weightloss Wlking wk5

After last week I set off this week with renewed vigor and got 3 walks completed in the early part of the week! I was eating reasonably well … then disaster struck …. a nasty cold has taken hold of Joshua and I and we have been battling heavy achy limbs and far too much snot to cope with.

All I can say is thank god I had batch cooked teas for this week! I barley have any energy to wipe my nose never mind cook a healthy meal!

Hockey tonight is not looking promising due to the pounding head I have had for the last few days, brought on by this cold. However we will see if it clears later.

So my exercise targets for last week were:

  • A minimum of 3 x 2 mile walks  (min 6 Miles)
  • Attend both hockey training sessions (junior with Beth & ladies = 180 mins)
  • No Hockey match … so just get my bum from the sofa!!

What exercise I actually completed this week:

  • 2 x 2 miles – Walks
  • 1 x 1 mile – Walk     – Total 5 miles
  • 140 mins Hockey Training – Due to changing weigh in day it would count on next weeks exercise

So how did I do?

– 0.5lbs

Total Weight Loss This Year:

Total Loss (including last year)

4 Stone 7.5lbs

Next Week’s Exercise:

  • A minimum of 3 x 2 mile walks (min 6 miles total)
  • Attend both hockey training sessions (junior with Beth & ladies = 180 mins)
  • Hockey Match Saturday so need to play the whole match!

Not a great week however once again any loss is great but 7.5lbs in a month is still overall pretty great!

I’ve found rubbing some deep heat on my aching body parts is helping. Well done you are doing really well.

  4. fabfortymum says:

You know how impressed I am by your weight loss. You are a total inspiration and I wish I had half of your determination x

  5. Love this…I need to get motivated again I lost my mojo this winter

  6. One great article! Let me share an excellent idea regarding weight loss: Reduce the amount of stress in your life. When you’re stressed, your temptation for eating unhealthy food increases. It is a lot easier to remain focused on your goals if you are experiencing a happy, healthy and stress free life.

  7. FOUR STONES?!!! You’ve lost FOUR STONES (and now an extra half). You must be so proud. You’ve inspired me totally. Was feeling really down the last few weeks at the fact I’m losing an average 1lb a week. But I’m realising it’s the only way. You’ve gotta live your life – and life throws all sorts of obstacles in your way, including nasty colds.

    • Jaime Oliver says:

when you put it like that i dont have anything to grumble about!

The first couple of stones was easy and dropped quickly but since then i do kind of loss and stop loss and stop. As long as it comes off i dont care!!

I really was down at 5ft and 18 stone and now i am feeling so much better. xx thanks so much for popping over x

  8. AutismMumma says:

You’ve done really well, considering you’ve been poorly.
That’s a brilliant overall total, well done!
Hope you start feeling better soon x

  9. slow and steady wins the race 😉 I think you’ve done extremely well considering and a loss is a loss, still going in the right direction xx

    • Jaime Oliver says:

thanks honey, slow and steady it is i hate having to miss out on treats all together i am just learning what i can have and how to make the difference when i do 🙂 x

  10. well done on your weight loss, you have done brilliant so far, you are doing really well with your exercise goals..i hope your both feeling better xx

  11. Love your positive attitude and your commitment to some exercise even when circumstances are not great. Just noticed properly how much you have lost in total. Wow! That will inspire me this week so thanks.

  12. You might not think it’s a great loss but I think you’ve made wonderful progress especially as you’ve been ill. Well done!

  13. Any weightloss is good weightloss when you poorly and feel like comfort food :), well done xx

  14. Well done Jaime I think you are doing really well. It’s hard to stay focused when you have a young child to look after and even harder when you are both poorly. I hope you are both feeling better soon 😊

    • Jaime Oliver says:

Thanks! Looking back at that original weigh in tickets from boots last January i cant quite believe it either! I am just getting impatient now though. Thanks for popping over and supporting me x

  15. Shell Louise says:

7.5lbs is a great loss in a month 🙂 You’re doing much better on the exercise goals than I am! I have promised the girls that I’ll walk them to school on Friday though and once they heard that there’s no way they’ll let me back out of that promise!
    Hope you’re feeling better xx

    • Jaime Oliver says:

Thanks Shell, i think setting the exercise goals is really helping me be more aware of what exercise i am getting as before i could go the whole week without getting any.

      Good luck Friday xx

  16. Mama Syder says:

Well Done, 7.5lb is a really good loss x

  17. mevtheneds says:

Don’t be hard on yourself, you’re doing really very well:)

    • Jaime Oliver says:

Thanks, i dont know why my expectations seem to be so much higher!! to the point probably of unreasonable! .. maybe one day i will learn! Thanks for you comment x

  18. Well done….especially with having a nasty cold! Xx
