The Gallery: Boys

After joining the Gallery linky via Tara at Sticky Fingers last week with the theme of Girls, this week I am joining again for the theme of boys.

I have searched thought thousands of photo’s of Ollie (the hubby) and Joshua for a glimpse at the Oliver boys:

Fun At The Farm Shop

FPF Farm shop

Last week in my wisdom I decided to batch cook for this weeks tea, however without half the ingredients Joshua and I hot footed it to our local farm shop.

On arriving and getting to the first counter Joshua had spotted an assistant who he took a shine too. If I am honest I think he fell in love!

The photo above is one of the smiles he gave her while she was putting together our cheese order!

When approaching the second counter for our meat Joshua fell in love once again and proceeded to blow kisses to this lady…. at this point I began to worry that they may just chuck us out!

Farm Shop

On finally getting all the ingredients for our batch cooking session Joshua spotted the balloons! .. damn you Farm shop!! he cried and pointed and wanted to get out the trolley.

But all was not lost as one of his new loves came and served us on the till and gave him a sticker!!

Who knew Farm Shops could be so much fun!

I will be linking up again with the lovely Charlotte from The Crumby Mummy for her Fun Photo Fun linky, why not give it a go!

My Week That Was – Project 365 Week 7

project 365 wk7Ribbet collage365 wk7

Another busy week for us at the Oliver’s Madhouse, Its the last week of term for Beth so next week I have no doubt it will be busier still!

Sunday 10th February – Sunday is what I class as my catch up day, bed stripping, deep cleaning and ironing, Joshua like the empty ironing basket so its always fun when I get to the bottom!

Monday 11th February – After an eventful night over the weekend which led to us taking turns on Joshua’s bedroom floor to hold his hand through the cot bars. Monday morning my little terror thought he would have lie in!

Tuesday 12th February – Joshua and I walked with Beth to school to get some fresh air. Also I think Beth liked the idea as she is being bullied although she would never admit she liked it too!

Wednesday 13th February – Off Joshua and I went to the farm shop to get some ingredients for batch cooking on Thursday, glad we went early as it snowed again.

Thursday 14th February – I batch cooked spag bol, shepherds pie, lasagne and chilli today. We all had haircuts in the afternoon by the lovely Carl our mobile hairdresser too.

Friday 15th February – Was a lazy day, While I was catching up with emails and post reading Joshua played with his friend Doggy. I did have to explain later on that Doggy didn’t need to be washed in the washing machine!

Saturday 16th February – This morning Joshua came into our bed for a snuggle, I love Saturday mornings.

Hope you all had a great week too.

Creative Corner – Feisty Sue

Prose For Thought 2Having created a lovely poem last week Beth (age 11) decided to have another go at a poem this week around the same theme as last weeks, which you can find HERE but adding a romantic edge. So if your sitting comfortably she will begin:

There once was a  fiesty girl called sue

With wild green eyes looking at you

If you saw her you would see

How beautiful she looks when she she is looking at me

Yet all she wants is her true love

Who sailed on out to sea

The Gallery: Girls

I have obviously lived in a cupboard oblivious to the outside world since I have only just discovered this great linky via Tara at Sticky Fingers.

So this being my first link up I do hope I have got it right!.

The theme for this week is girls and since being of the female variety myself I have included myself into this in order to show you some pictures of the Oliver girls.

While browsing for pictures this morning I have found I have to make a massive confession ….. there are barely any of Beth and I so I have pledged this morning that I will aim to resolve this in the future!

Fun With Paint

FPF paint

This morning after Joshua decided sleeping past 6.30 am was not going to happen (serves me right gloating yesterday about him sleeping through 11-12 hrs at a time)

So in the absence of any further sleep we decided to do some painting, which in all fairness has been one of the first times we have done any painting.

Joshua picked his 2 colours: blue & green and then set about making a jolly fine mess picture followed by several more!

Today has been lots of fun already and its not even 9 am!

Fun Photo Fun - Paint

I wonder what other fun stuff we might do today ……

Never Move A Sleeping Toddler

sleep

Yes I am one of those annoying parents that have been totally totally lucky. Joshua has been an amazing sleeper from a mere 5 weeks old.

Every evening my little man brushes his teeth and treks up the stairs to go and give loves to Ted (his teddy) Largely he is in bed fast sleep by 7.30 pm for a good 11-12 hours.

Ok so this last couple of weeks Joshua, Beth and I have been totally bunged up with snot, this as we all know can make it quite difficult to breath. Having said that I have added a pillow into his cot to raise him slightly which has helped.

In my wisdom at 12.30 am on Saturday morning when on route to bed I decided that I ought to remove the pillow as its no longer needed.

Joshua was not actually using the pillow however when I very quietly took it out he shot up in his cot and began to cry. *go Jaime you numpty*

After settling him back down the only thing way he would stop crying is if I laid on the floor and held his hand through the cot bars.

Nearly an hour passes and I am seriously in pain with my PSD and my eyes are hurting as I am so tired … Joshua on the other hand is wide awake and muttering.

After taking all the pain I could, I shipped in Ollie for his stint on the floor holding hands … several hours pass and the boys remain locked in a marathon hand holding session when Joshua finally drops off.

All those Mummies and Daddies out there that have a tot that wakes frequently in the night you are all my heros! you are far better people than me as a couple of days on and I am still grumpy with lack of sleep!

A Lovely Meeting Followed By Crap ..

Dog Poo Bin

Yesterday started off so lovely, I finally got to meet another one of my lovely blogging chums the fantastic Sarah from The Puffin Diaries. We visited a lovely pub halfway between each of us. It was so lovely to meet someone I regularly have contact with in real life.

Poor Sarah had no secrets as Joshua fell in love with her bag and continually emptied the entire contents on the floor and played with her compact! .. sorry Sarah.

After a spot of lunch we ventured into the garden to find it not only muddy but also covered in dog poo. No word of a lie the entire area was covered! Needless to say toddlers and dog poo just don’t mix!

After trying to get my distraught toddler into the pushchair so I could remove his mud and poo encrusted shoes disaster struck and not only did the pushchair cosy toes get swiped with a flailing limb so did my jeans leg!

Oh the joys …

Had I not of had such a lovely lunch with Sarah beforehand I may of just silently wept; however baby wipes bore the brunt of the clean-up operation before it was time to leave.

On returning home I stripped Joshua in the doorway and followed with a strip down of my own. While busying myself with the offensive articles and the washing machine Joshua was flitting between the living room and the kitchen. When I turned round I noticed his pull up had slipped off and was lying dejected on the kitchen floor.

So off I went to collect a new pull up from the living room draw when realisation dawned …….poo

Yep after his pull up had dropped off he had wondered into the living room and had obviously done a jig while letting it all hang free mid poo!

I shed a small tear ..

Thank the lord I was in a calm and happy mood from meeting my friend or I would of crumpled into ball and howled like a wolf.

After some serious cleaning equipment and time my living room looked as good as new

I hope today is not going to be as eventful in the poo department!

Creative Corner – Marty

Prose For Thought

Although I am shocking poetry my Daughter Beth is very clever and often sits and writes songs, story and poetry so this week Beth (aged 11) has asked if she could share one of her recent poems on my blog, so if your sitting comfortably we will begin:

She met a boy with eyes of blue

He was so good looking too

A handsome boy called Marty

To prove to him that she did care

She took him  out to see a scare

Some buttery popcorn, they did share

Layla and her Marty

This week Beth and I are linking up for the lovely Vicky for her linky Prose for Thought, why not pop over and check out the others posts too HERE
